Neil J. Finkler, MD
American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Finkler founded the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 1992. After completing his medical training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Finkler conducted his OB/GYN residency and his Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Finkler is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and is the principle investigator for all GYN Oncology Group clinical trials, a National Cancer Institute cooperative group.

Robert W. Holloway, MD
American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr Holloway has co-directed the Gynecologic Oncology Program since joining FHCI in 1994. A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, he completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He is board-certified in Gynecologic Oncology and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is the principle investigator for several clinical trials and lectures regularly both nationally and internationally. Surgeons from around the world routinely attend his advanced training programs in robotic surgery. His major research interests are robotic surgery and novel ovarian cancer therapies.

Glenn Edgar Bigsby, DO

Dr. Bigsby joined the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 2006. After receiving a BA in Psychology at the University of Colorado, Dr. Bigsby attended the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Bigsby completed his fellowship at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute and is board certified through the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Giselle B. Ghurani, MD

Dr. Ghurani is board-certified in Gynecologic Oncology. She joined the Gynecologic Oncology Division at Florida Hospital Cancer Institure in January 2009. A graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine, she completed her OB/GYN residency and Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She then remained on Faculty as Assistant Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, University of Miami/ Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center for two years. She also worked in Tampa, Florida as a private practitioner with Saint Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. Her major research interests include cervical cancer in minority populations and novel treatments in ovarian carcinoma.

Dr. James Kendrick joined the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in July 2009. Dr. Kendrick received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine.
After earning his degree, he completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Following residency, and before joining FHCI, Dr. Kendrick also completed a three year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Alabama Birmingham. His clinical interests include robotic surgery and the management of all gynecologic malignancies.

Sarfraz Ahmad, Ph.D.
Dr. Ahmad is Chief Research Scientist at Gynecologic Oncology Department of Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI), Orlando. Before joining FHCI in 2002, he spent 10-years in research and teaching at Loyola University of Chicago and University of Illinois at Chicago’s Division of Hematology/Oncology, College of Medicine. He has trained several fellows, residents, medical students, and undergraduate research students during their research projects. He is also Associate Professor of Medical Education at University of Central Florida College of Medicine and Clinical Associate Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine, Orlando.
His current research focus is on the analysis of clinico-pathologic and surgical outcomes of gynecologic oncology patients and to understand the cellular/molecular mechanisms of cancer and related thromboembolic disorders. His investigations are also aimed towards the evaluation of novel treatment options (chemo/cellular therapies) for better management of hemato-oncologic patients. His past research interests focused on the anticoagulant, antithrombin, antiplatelet, and thrombolytic drug development for the management of hematologic and cardiovascular patients. In these various areas of biomedical research, Dr. Ahmad has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and numerous abstracts. He is a reviewer for several biomedical journals and has received several competitive research grants and national/international awards for his research accomplishments/contributions.

Susan Blaydes Ingersoll, Ph.D.
Dr. Blaydes Ingersoll is Senior Scientist at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (Orlando) Gynecologic Oncology Program (GOP). She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Florida College of Medicine through the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Prior to joining the GOP, she has been a researcher at Florida Hospital for seven years first with the Institute for Thrombosis Research and then with the Cellular Therapy Laboratory. Her current research focuses on the use of cellular therapy as a novel treatment for ovarian cancer; she has been awarded several competitive research grants for this work. Dr. Blaydes Ingersoll has published many peer reviewed articles and abstracts, which have been presented at national and international scientific meetings.
